HOUSE Pictures!!! FINALLY!!

Welcome to our new home! We closed end of July and moved in beginning of August. Many friends and family helped...which was very very much appreciated! If you look closely, you can see Matt on our door step (which we barely use).

Our front door! It needs some clean up and paint, but otherwise in good condish.

Here is the living room just to the left after walking in. I LOVE the arch...one of my favorite things about this house or condo (technically it's a condo but feels like a house).

Same living room. I love all the light that comes into the room. It makes it happy.

We have a FIREPLACE! One of the things we wanted but didn't have to have when we were looking to buy. It is electric...so no having to buy/scramble wood.

Back out of the living room.

The front door is on the right and here we go to the kitchen!

Kitchen area. We have a bar and dining area. Matt really wanted a bar to sit at because he grew up with one. Naturally, I didn't really care about having one necessarily because I never had one growing up. It has a nice big window to let in a lot of light; however, those blinds are SO hard to pull up...they are really heavy. We want to replace the blinds to match the white we have painted the baseboards; this may or may not happen while we live here.

I love the window here. Outside, you can see some trees and grass area which is technically community but pretty much ours because we live on the end.

Out of the kitchen and into the hallway!

First (only) doorway on the left has our laundry area...

Linen Closet....

And entry to our 2-car garage. When Matt and I were looking, we REALLY wanted a 2 car garage. A lot of places we looked at either had a 1 car garage or 1 or 2 carports.

We lived at that other place that only had 1 carport and 1 additional space in the parking lot to park in. Having to walk a ways to get to our apartment (which was in the very center of all the apartments away from the parking lot) was quite annoying and then with having to scrape our cars from ice when we leave in the morning during winter was also something we wanted to avoid. Our neighbors' kids at the apartment complex we lived at decided it best to walk on people's cars leaving shoe prints on the hood of my car, leave rocks on the trunk of my car therefore scraping some paint off, and put camping chairs against the side of my car. After this all happened, Matt and I decided it's best to have a garage.

The kids would also play on the gas pipes (while unsupervised) that were connected to our building while we were trying sleep...but that's another story.

Entrance to the first door on the right. This currently is being used for my sewing stuff/sewing space, shoes, and clothes. We are planning on repainting this wonderful peachy orange color to something a lot more us...or me. The bathroom next to it is the same disgusting color.

The light switch is weird. It is halfway in the room past the edge of the door when it is all the way open....kind of annoying.

It has a POCKET door into the bathroom! I'm glad we have one of these somewhere in the house. Pocket doors make me happy.

Here is the upstairs bathroom. (second door on the right down the hall from the kitchen).

Here is the master bedroom (straight down the hall at the end).

There is quite a big window to cover with FOIL! Matt can't sleep without it up, and I can't wake up with it up. So he helps me wake up in the morning...otherwise I don't quite make it to all of my classes. We love this room...it's very spacious. We got rid of the grandma pink color that is in this room, our bathroom, along the hallway, AND in the kitchen. We are loving our space even more now.

Our closet. I LOVE it! Just wish I could fit all my shoes in there.

View from the other corner. Our wall has a light switch on it for stuff you plug in below. Pretty sweet...we haven't really used it...we are still using the clapper...

Our Bathroom...we LOVE it! One of the things that sold us on this house.

More of our bathroom.

Mr. Toilet

Shower and jetted tub. The shower is a little small, but the tub is REALLY nice to have.

Looking at the mirror.

Back down the hall, to the right and down the stairs we go.

This is what you see when you walk in the front door.

Down the stairs...beware of the time warp to the 70s!

Family Room with brain carpet (as I like to call it) from the 70s. It's tan though and pretty soft, so I don't really mind it.

Family Room. The big windows are nice because even though it is a basement, the windows don't make it seem so. It isn't so much a dungeon as most places with basements. The windows have carpeted blinds....an acquired taste I must say that I do not really have, but hey, at least we have blinds!

View to the right of the stairs. Of coarse it has the ghetto light fixtures as well.

Turn left from the stairs and there is a hallway. (And the big wood doors - 70s)

To the left is the A/C unit, heating, and switch box.

Second room on the left is a storage room. We still need to get some primer and paint up. Then we need to build some shelves...and MAYBE some carpet...we'll see.

Coming out of the storage closet...choose a door any door...

The left door will take you into this room which is currently being used as an office/storage. It's very nice with the big window.

It has this insanely huge closet...so weird....

It's like 4-5 feet deep....

Back down the hall to the left is a...a...

Bathroom! This is the door on the right coming from the storage closet. It's nice to have another bathroom downstairs to use while chillin and watchin movies/tv, playing games, etc.

This is the other hallway...making a u-turn from the stairs...to the left is another...

Storage closet. We still need to build shelves and paint in here too.

To the right is storage under the stairs....nice to have for like xmas stuff you don't want to have to dig through everything else to get to every year. We haven't put anything in it yet. We still need to vacuum all the dead spiders and cob webs out.

Straight down the hall is this room. This is going to be our guest bedroom. Currently it is a storage room and guest bedroom until we can get those shelves put up. We only have a twin bed in there, but maybe we will have a queen or king down there someday.

The carpet is a lot more modern (not so 70s) and so is the molding. I really like this room a lot. It has lots of space for nieces and nephews and cousins and friends and whoever that wants to sleep over when they are here in Utah! ::wink:: ::wink::

Someone planted a tree in that window area...bad idea on their part! Matt took it out during the first week or two or month that we were living there. On the outside it looked nice, but it was probably going to damage something with the foundation at some point so he removed it.

Back down the hallway, into the family room.

What is weird is that even though everything looks 70s in the basement except this last room, everything is completely brand new downstairs. The owners before us were the ones that finished it, they did it themselves. It's kind of weird that they chose all new outdated stuff. Oh well, can't do much about it right now with no funds, and well, don't fix something that isn't broken. I think we'll keep the carpet, MAYBE replace the doors or paint them white, and replace the light fixtures, and MAYBE the blinds too. We'll see where all of this goes, but for now, we have higher priorities on our list to get done on the house. We are so excited to be living in our first home; some days Matt and I are astounded that we actually own a home...or I should say on our way to owning one with paying our Mortgage. I forgot to include photos of the deck in the back. There is a deck that is connected to the dining area in the kitchen....we have a mini backyard where we will be growing some edible things. We also have our bbq out on the deck for yummy burgers on hot summer nights.

I can't wait for everything to be in it's place. We have not unpacked ALL of our boxes yet. We hope to some day...but right now our focus is on school...and it's kickin our butts. Anyway, I'm glad I could finally get these up for all you Californians to see and those who are in Utah who refuse to come see it.

Thanks for reading!
